Letter from the President

Welcome to the Delta Zeta chapter of Alpha Phi at the University of Maryland!

My name is Emma Burke and I am incredibly honored to serve as the President of Alpha Phi, a chapter full of 115 intelligent, driven, inspiring, and well-rounded women.  Each member provides a unique take on living out all six of our founding values: sisterhood, scholarship, service, leadership, loyalty, and character development. Since joining this chapter in February of 2016, I have personally learned what it means to be a loyal sister and member of an organization that focuses heavily on academics, philanthropy, and discovering the leader in each member. These stressed characteristics lead to each member becoming a better version of herself. I could not be more proud to be a sister of Alpha Phi, and represent a group of truly incredible women.

This past semester has been full of lots of hard work and tremendous success. We have elected and installed 10 new members to our executive board, all of which are excited to utilize their leadership skills. We also hosted our 12th annual Red Dress Gala, and raised approximately $20,000 for the Alpha Phi Foundation which supports women’s cardiac care. We look forward to co-hosting our annual Casino Night and hosting a new event, Mac and Phis this upcoming semester.

Thank you so much for taking a look at our website! Please feel free to explore our other social media accounts to meet more of the sisters that make up our wonderful chapter. Don’t hesitate to contact me with at emmacburke@gmail.com with any questions about Alpha Phi or Maryland Greek life in general. On behalf of all of my sisters, I would like to warmly welcome you to Alpha Phi at the University of Maryland!

All my love and AOE,

Emma Burke
